ACS meets with Venezuelan Ambassador
The Directorate for Disaster Risk Reduction, Environment and the Caribbean Sea (DECS), met with His Excellency Álvaro Enrique Sanchez Cordero, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Chair of the Special Committee for Disaster Risk Reduction (SCDRR). Director of the DECS, Ms. Ana Leticia Ramírez Cuevas provided the Chair with a detailed overview of the ACS’ Plan of Action 2022-2028 and the disaster risk reduction (DRR) strategy to be operationalised during this period. The Chair shared his vision for the newly appointed Executive Board of the SCDRR, which emphasises the importance of community engagement in climate and disaster risk management. Coming out of this meeting, the ACS will convene a meeting of the Executive Board of the SCDRR in the coming weeks to continue discussions on the way forward.
