Secretary General visits Cuba
The Secretary General undertook a visit to Cuba from February 15-22 as part of his commitment to meet with members of the Association.
The Secretary General met with Dr. C. Miriam Nicado Garcia, Rector of the University of Havana. He also gave a lecture at this university.
He visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he met with Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He also met with Dr. Regla Angulo Pardo, Vice Minister of Public Health.
Held a meeting with Naima Alfonso Acosta, Vice-Minister of Transport.
He visited Ana Teresita González Fraga, First Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.
He visited the Morro-Cabaña Historic Military Complex and met with José Fidel Santana Núñez, First Vice-Minister of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba.
He visited the company ¨Inversiones Gamma S.A., a consulting company that is executing the Costas Arenosas (Sandy Shorelines) project.
He met with Major General Ramón Pardo Guerra, head of the National General Staff of the Civil Defence.
Visited Juan Carlos García Granda, First Vice-Minister of Tourism.
He was taken to the ¨Fidel Castro Ruz¨ Centre.
The mission ended with a meeting with Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba.
